My night recedes - Amar Raat Pohalo

Genre : Prokriti/Sharat (Nature/Autumn)

powered by ODEO
Composed by Rabindranath Tagore when he was sixty-four.
Swarabitan#2
Arrangement : Bodhi-Bappa
Flute : Bappaditya

My night recedes,
This festive autumn.
O flute,
Into whose hands do I place thee?

A melody vibrates in your heart
- Approach of a new dawn

Those unspoken words in my soul
Your music stole them all

Just like the morning star,
Time has come to an end,
Oh night. Fare thee well.

Dear all, the above words are not a translation of Tagore's music. I will never be able to translate Tagore. They are merely an expression of what I understand and feel for the song; for I believe, Tagore is far beyond any boundaries of expression.

His words can be interpreted in numerous ways, all deep and pregnant with emotion. Tagore's lyrics, embedded in melody, are indeed a treat to all who seek a soothing refuge.

Dear Moushumi,
Its wonderful to hear Amar Raat Pohalo, the transcreation of the poem is incredible, the song Amar Raat pohalo will be sung by me even when I will be 70,if I survive in the lonely early morning
keep it up,Tagore is the most modern poet to my view and the passion you have rendered through your voice is to be remembered.

Hello Madam,

Namaskaar, it was very nice to get a mail from you, whereas I become a fan of yours. Long time ago, I have visited your website (blogspot), and collect the song from there. The video I made is only to share in Yahoo 360 blog (http://blog.360.yahoo.com/blog-.Ns6_i06eqQWRhp3cQsMBpjVF4aABg--?cq=1&p=480) with my friends, not for any commercial purpose. I mentioned about your website and attached your photo too on my blog. But I forgot to inform you, as I was so excited after listening such a nice song. I’m so sorry for the mistake. I often make and upload videos to youtube, and share it on Yahoo! 360, so I never give any detail in here (youtube), place all of those in my blog.

Thanks for your mail. Hope to hear from you soon and also need to hear some awesome songs also.

Regards;

Feroz
